Hello lovelies, I trust we're good. This post is brought to you courtesy of my long lost love, olive oil.
Olive oil is one of my staple products. I use it to pre-shampoo and deep condition. However for the past 3 or so months, there hasn't been any around in the house and I didn't get around to buying some for myself. I would just pre-shampoo with coconut oil, amla oil or sunflower oil instead. Then I would add vatika oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil or castor oil to my deep conditioner.
Well the olive oil is back again and i've been using it to pre-shampoo and deep condition. My hair has been noticeably softer and fluffier these past few wash days. It usually comes out soft from dc-ing....but just not AS SOFT as now....
I did some googling to confirm my suspicions and found that its benefits include:
-moisturising the scalp and prevents dandruff
-adds shine
-softens hair
-reduces split ends
-adds weight and moisture to hair because it is one of the few oils that actually penetrate the strand (making it ideal for winter)
-rich in vitamins E, A and antioxidants thus strengthening hair and encouraging growth
*You can use any olive oil that is made for cooking in your hair, that's the real good stuff.
I guess sometimes you never know how much good a product is doing you until it's gone and then reintroduced. I'm not saying bye to it anytime soon...

ReplyDeleteMy sister loves it for her face too. I usually use grapeseed oil for my face and skin. No harm in giving olive a whirl too.
