Hey lovelies
Today i'm featuring the lovely Patja. I met her through a mutual friend, who actually introduced us because she also blogs about her hair! Find her at A Belle in Nam. She's got a lovely mane. I'll let her tell you more.
1. Tell us a little about yourself and your hair?
My name is Patja, I’m 24 years old. I've been natural since November 2012. I decided to go natural after I realized that I've been relaxed for 15 years and kinda figured my scalp and hair needed a break from all those chemicals. That's when I big chopped and started my natural hair journey. I would describe my hair as 4A type and low porosity. It’s very coily with a "S" like curl pattern.
2. Do you have a regimen? Please share it.
I wash my hair twice a month, every 2nd week. I detangle my hair dry, with Revlon's AquaMarine shine Vanilla Balsam Conditioner (It has really good slip that makes the detangling process very easy to go through) and a detangling comb. I put every section that i detagled in large two strand twists to prevent my hair from tangling up again. I then clarify my hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and water, then the co-wash process begins.
I co-wash my hair with Tresemme Naturals conditioner and I use a t-shirt instead of a towel to dry my hair and apply my ORS hair mayonnaise and let my hair marinate in that for a couple of hours depending on what state my hair is in. After the deep conditioner is rinsed out I apply the Tresemme Naturals conditioner as my leave-in conditioner and the Isoplus serum to seal the moisture, i start with my styling process with ORS Olive Oil Smooth n Hold Pudding.
My go to hairstyles are mostly braid/twist outs, fros and high puffs. I wear a braid/twist out for 3-4 days and I do mini pineapple's (min 3) every night and apply some hair cream to maintain it. When my style reaches the brink of raggady, I wear it out as a fro/high puff and re-twist on Sundays.
3. If you were told you would be taken to a secret destination and would only know it once you got there, what three products would you take with you?
*Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise
*Isoplus Oil Sheen Revitalizing Hair Serum with Argan Oil
*Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
4. What is your favorite thing about your hair?
I love the texture and volume that my hair has.
5. Do you have a motto for your hair?
Deep condition and moisturize often.
6. What's the funniest or most memorable moment you've had when someone reacted to your hair?
The most memorable moment was when a complete stranger yelled Kroes Kop (Nappy head) to me while I was busy shopping one day, which I found really offensive.
7. Any advice for newbies about healthy hair care?
Your hair will tell you what it needs, whether it's protein or moisture, so just pay close attention to it. You could prevent damage before it happens.
Her twist outs are the bomb.comb in person I tell you. Beautiful girl with beautiful hair.
