Hi Doves!
As the year is drawing to a close, I had a look over all the stuff I have used. I think i'm becoming a product junkie, eish...
This post is dedicated to the products I have used but did not review, because they were over shadowed by other posts lol.
Extra hits of 2014
I added this rosewater and glycerine mix to my regular sta-sof-fro braid spray. It provided lasting moisture well after I had sprayed it. My hair was soft and happy, I just wanted to cry. Definitely an add-on to my braid spray.
Peppermint and Lavender essential oils
Peppermint is usually the first oil you think of when someone says essential oil. However a dry spell led me to incorporate lavender oil into my scalp oils and deep conditioners. It is quite potent and helped with growing my edges and soothing my scalp. I picked up some peppermint oil again at dischem (grove mall), and it was a lifesaver when it came to masking bad smelling mixes
I used this to set my braid outs and flexi rod set. It provides lasting hold whilst leaving the hair soft and moisturised. My braid out bangs lasted four days without having to reset them when I used it. My flexi rod set also retained its curl after tying the hair up and a lot of pulling. If you are a little too heavy handed your hair will turn out greasy. Overall a great product for me.
Extra flops of 2014
Large bottle, great price, sulfate free, stripped hair, tangled tresses, no slip, no suds, no way. I hoped it would be nicer but sadly, I wont be repurchasing. I also gave up on trying to finish it.
V05 Heat Protect Curl Scrunching Spray
I got this last year primarily to use as a heat protectant. I didn't really pay attention to the curl defining properties. It always left my hair dry and hard, so another one I wont be looking into again.
I can definitely say that I spent a lot of this year experimenting with mixes, styles and products way more than in my other years. I think the blog has had a hand in that. Next year may be more chilled, we'll see.
What are your hits and misses of 2014?
I saw so may hair tips in your diff post. Nice work

Aww i appreciate it Buiti. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteGlycerine and rosewater sounds divine. My mum used to use it as a facial toner when I was little. Can't seem to find a brand in Nigeria that's a pure mix these days. Sigh
ReplyDeleteI also use it for my face hehehe. You could make your own actually. I was checking youtube the other day and found loads of tutorials on how to make rose water.
DeleteYes to glycerine and rosewater toner especially if it's just plain glycerine and real rosewater. With the brands available, you can barely see the main ingredients in the list so it's DIY things for now.
ReplyDeleteHits for 2014 were Shea Moisture African Black Soap Masque, Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo, Vital Hair Mayonnaise...
Miss: Cantu Flat Iron Spray, Shea Moisture JBCO leave in, Aphogee Leave In
